Miami based chef and rising culinary star Tristen Epps, Chef de Cuisine of Red Rooster Overtown, will be featured in “Bursting with Berries,” a complimentary, four-part virtual cooking and cocktail-making series on Tuesday, June 22.
The series was conceived by Chef Marcus Samuelsson to celebrate the launch of Bombay Sapphire’s newest flavor expression, Bombay Bramble. Known for uplifting Black voices in the culinary world, Samuelsson three renowned chefs from across the the country to participate in the series. During his virtual class, Epps will teach foodies near and far how to create a Bramble-themed dessert, the Greek Yogurt Cake Trifle, to pair with Samuelsson’s Bramble 75 cocktail.
Debuting just in time to celebrate World Gin Day on June 12, the series is designed to explore the flavors, textures, and colors expressed when experimenting with berries in both drink and food pairings. Samuelsson created a cocktail for the class, dubbed the Bramble 75, which will be available for consumers to purchase as part of a kit here. Participants will also find the necessary ingredients to make the food pairings.
The series will kick off on Friday, June 11, with Samuelsson guiding virtual audiences through elevating their food-cocktail pairing game inspired by the berries of the season and the new gin. In addition to Epps, chefs Adrienne Cheatham of Sunday Best in New York City and Joseph Johnson of Charcoal Venice in Los Angeles will stop by to on June 15 and 17 to craft an appetizier and main dish for the series, respectively.
Registration for all four classes will be available on the Cocktail Courier beginning June 1.
