Returning for its eleventh year (and timed to coincide with the opening of stone crab season), the South Beach Seafood Festival promises four days of sea-you-there excitement October 18-21.
This year’s lineup offers chef competitions, cooking demonstrations, and more. Score tickets for a five-course meal, with one slated to take place at Joe’s Stone Crab and showcase executive chef Andre Bienvenu’s cuisine paired with fine wines curated by master sommeliers (October 18), and another at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel featuring an international twist on surf and turf (October 19).
On Friday, things really get cracking as 20 of Miami’s top chefs go head-to-head in 10 competitive seafood rounds (in categories from ceviche to sushi and everything in between) at the always popular Chef Showdown at Lummus Park. Things reach a delicious culmination at the beach on Saturday with live music and a selection of pop-up cafés by prominent South Florida restaurants including A Fish Called Avalon, Ella’s Oyster Bar, and The Lobster Shack.
