On any given morning or evening in greater Miami, the sidewalks tell a familiar story: neon sneakers hitting pavement and groups of runners moving through the city like a mobile social club. Run clubs have become one of South Florida’s most popular ways to meet people, stay active, and explore neighborhoods beyond the gym. From Aventura loops to Brickell block parties, these community-powered runs blend fitness with social energy.

For Casual Runners: Miami’s Okayest Run Club

Miami’s Okayest Run Club proudly leans into the middle of the pack. As the group playfully puts it, “Okay runners with okay bodies.” A product of the pandemic, Okayest now meets for runs Wednesdays at 7 p.m. near South Miami Avenue and Southwest 32nd Road before celebrating afterward at local bars and restaurants.

For a Runner-Filled Spectacle: Brickell Run Club

Baptist Health Brickell Run Club turns Tuesday nights into a downtown street party. Runners meet at 1300 Brickell Avenue at 7 p.m., then set off on a 3.5-mile route through the glowing skyline, often with hundreds—if not thousands—of runners joining in. All levels are welcome, but the vibe caters to those looking to build community.

For Aventura Locals: Running in Circles Run Club

If you live near Aventura Mall, chances are you’ve seen this crew clocking laps around the Don Soffer Exercise Trail—the famed 3-mile “circle” winding past Turnberry Isle. Running in Circles Run Club gathers Tuesday and Thursday evenings for group miles around the loop. On weekends, the club ventures farther afield with runs in nearby locales like Hollywood, Sunny Isles Beach, and Haulover.

For a Diverse Slate: Run Herd

Run Herd is all about variety. Rather than sticking to a single weekly route, the group organizes a rotating lineup throughout the month—from social runs and casual 5Ks to community game nights that make the post-run hang just as important as the miles.

For Precision Timing: South Beach Run Club

Affiliated with Nike, South Beach Run Club gathers every Thursday at 7:01 p.m. outside the Nike store on Lincoln Road, a cheeky nod to runners who take pacing seriously. With its DJs and a scenic run through South Beach, this group attracts a fit and fabulous crowd

For Trail Enthusiasts: Bearly Runners

For runners who prefer dirt paths over sidewalks, Bearly Runners delivers. The group meets Wednesdays at 6:20 p.m. at Moore Park Track and heads to local trails on Sunday mornings. All levels are invited, including walkers. Rooted in Bolivian heritage and inspired by the spirit of the Andean bear, the club is built around connection, real trails, and a crew that shows up for each other, rain or shine.
