Pride Month at the Arsht Center

The performing arts center will celebrate the return of CommuniTea Dance with Pride Marketplace on Saturday, June 26

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County will host Pride Marketplace, a new and free outdoor event on Saturday, June 26, to kick off the return of CommuniTea Dance, the center’s annual LGBTQ+ PrideMonth celebration.

The community is invited to enjoy Pride Marketplace on the Arsht Center’s Thomson Plaza for the Arts from 3 to 7 p.m. Guests of all ages will be able to peruse and support local LGBTQ+ artisans, creatives, and small businesses, all while enjoying food and drink specials and tunes by DJ Hottpants. Families are invited to partake in fun arts-and-crafts activities with free, limited-capacity Pour Your Art Out workshops throughout the afternoon.

For those looking to extend the fun, CommuniTea Dance will supply an evening of performances beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Ziff Ballet Opera House stage. CommuniTea Dance will feature a stellar lineup of South Florida-based LGBTQ+ artists, including a kick off performance by international superstar DJ Citizen Jane at 6:30 p.m.

Choreographers Alaina Andersen of Miami City Ballet and Randolph Ward of RTW Dance Productions will stage a performances of Tang, featuring Jordan Martinez and Francisco Schilereff at 8 p.m., and The Queen of Drag, featuring CC Glitzer and Lam Alexander, respectively. The night will close on a soulful note with a concert by Patrick & The Swayzees at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets to CommuniTea Dance costs $15 and can be purchased here or by calling the Arsht Center box office at (305) 949-6722. Audience members will be socially distanced while comfortably seated at tables of up to four guests on one of the largest performing arts stages in the country.
