In conjunction with Miami Beach Pride September 10-19, the Eden Roc Miami Beach (4525 Collins Ave.) will host a Queer Art Showcase on September 13, and a Sweat for Pride fitness class on September 12.
The historic property’s Queer Art Showcase will kick off at 7 p.m. The immersive art experience will feature local LGBTQIA+ artists Askenaxi, Jose Blanco, Jonathan Brooks, Leslie Cohen, Leslie Anne Frye-Thomas, Junior Jimenez, Chris Ochoa, David Sexton, Elias Smith, and Julian Uquillas, with an array of work including photography, paintings, and a live book reading. Guests can also participate in a workshop on self-publishing led by artists in South Florida’s queer community. Admission is free but registration is requested. All proceeds from art sales will go directly to the artists.
For those looking to kick off the week with a workout, the Eden Roc will host Sweat for Pride to benefit Miami Beach Pride’s work to ensure the success and well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community. The 60-minute bodyweight workout is suitable for all levels and will be led by Dani Dellarco, fitness instructor and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Tickets are $20 and include a post-workout Pride cocktail at the Aquatica Bar.
