The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is giving a voice to Miami’s Black art scene with its Art of Black Miami podcast series. The podcast offers a platform for local Black artists to share their work and stories with new audiences. “[It] offers listeners an intimate look into the creative journeys of the destination’s artistic community,” says Connie Kinnard, senior vice president of multicultural tourism and development for the GMCVB. Since its inception, the podcast has grown into a creative outlet for emerging and established artists to highlight how Miami shapes their work.”

Recent episodes have included interviews with Afro-Caribbean visual artist Kandy G. Lopez and multidisciplinary artist Mark Delmont. This year’s lineup of must-listen shows is still in the works, Kinnard notes, adding, “I can say that the future of Black art in Miami is brighter than ever.”
