Pershing 9x is Sleek and Saucy

The second generation Pershing 9x is revolutionary in both design and performance with futuristic technology.

This new Pershing 9x is a cutting-edge nautical gem with few rivals in the market. For boaters accustomed to the very best, this custom classic motor yacht with integrated control, a top-notch maneuvering and monitoring system, and a futuristic helm station upholstered with tony Poltrona Frau leather will not disappoint. Created in a partnership among yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee under the guidance of Piero Ferrari, and the Group’s Engineering Department, the team has designed a masterpiece of technology and luxury. “The Pershing 9x embodies the latest expression of Simoni’s vision of next generation styling while still continuing to maintain the unmistakable look and heritage of a global icon,” says Jamie Torrealba, Pershing’s American brand manager.

With a length of about 92’1 feet, a beam of 20’5 feet and a maximum speed of 42 knots (about 48.3 miles per hour), the Pershing 9x has created quite a buzz. A writer for Yachting magazine explained that the vessel delivers a “massive punch” and a plume that can top 30 feet. “The only imperfection was an outside air temperature of 52 degrees Fahrenheit, which, with a backdrop of snow-capped Apennine Mountains, probably seemed more brisk than our reality,” the expert wrote. “Certainly, if you were outside when she was round up, you noticed the wind chill, but thankfully the interior was a constant 66 degrees Fahrenheit, so I can vouch for the heating system, although I would rather not make a habit of it. I’m British and prefer yachting weather to be like my tea: hot.”

With its rigidity, lightness and high-tech equipment, the Pershing 9x offers performance at the top of its class, with unique comfort thanks to its quiet running capability and lack of roll at anchor. The fully integrated drive, navigation and monitoring systems work in tandem to promise a superior yachting experience in terms of performance and trim optimism, as well as total control of the onboard systems with customized displays on the monitors. The new joystick functions and the surface drive system enhance the handling capabilities in restricted areas. The four glazed windows with portholes in the hull bulwarks offer unparalleled levels of natural light inside. “The 9x features an abundance of natural light that permeates the interior spaces and invites guests to marvel at the panoramic views of the ocean while underway,” says Torrealba. “The yacht flies across the water like a jet fighter and pampers friends and family in luxury reminiscent of a five-star resort.”

The open-air foredeck area and the aerodynamic sundeck combine comfort with maximum privacy, and the cool interior design elevates luxury and sophistication to new levels. The appointments are spectacular and feature Italian minimalist design at its best, including an array of luxurious fabrics, elegant textures, warm tones and colors. Inside, the structural layout is embellished by this playful combination of colors and materials with fiddleback wood, pale gray flooring, and dark-toned enamels and leathers. Two Italian Cini&Nils table lamps complement the lighting system, which was developed in partnership with Altraluce. “All together, this design creates a visual masterpiece,” says Torrealba.

For example, the main deck, featuring a lounge, a dining area and the helm station, is aesthetically beautiful and perfectly functional. A central walkway provides access to four cabins. There is a full-beam master suite, along with a VIP suite containing a double bed positioned at 45 degrees to provide comfort and ample room to move around. Along the corridor are a pair of guest cabins, one a double with two adjustable beds and the other a double with twin beds. The galley by Ernestomeda, equipped with Miele appliances, is located past the entrance to the lounge, which spells convenience when entertaining.

Poltrona Frau not only highlights the helm station but also the ceilings and bulwarks of the main deck, and in the guest cabins’ upholstered furniture. The latter were inspired by the Lepli line and made exclusively for this vessel. Other Poltrona Frau products include the Gran Torino sofa, Fitzgerald dining chairs, Lepi pouf and Montera chair in the master suite. In addition to Poltrona Frau, the decor is a mix-and-match of upscale design. The chairs in the cockpit are by Dedon, the coffee table in the lounge is by Flexform, and the decorative cushions are by Fendi Casa. Standouts include the dining table by Italy Dream Design, and the bathrooms below decks with striking Trend mosaics, Antonio Lupi sinks and Ceadesign taps.

In short, the Pershing 9x looks like it was created on another planet, belonging to a class all of its own. The cutting-edge masterpiece reaffirms the vitality of one of the most exhilarating yacht brands on the international market.
