ANA NAVARRO
Few personalities in American politics are as blunt—or entertaining—as The View co-host Ana Navarro. The Coral Gables resident and host of the newly launched podcast Bleep! With Ana Navarro was at the Women’s Power Breakfast at The Ritz-Carlton South Beach, where we joined her for a candid conversation. Navarro opened up about her life in Miami, guilty pleasures, and why her podcast is the one place she doesn’t have to worry about being bleeped.
Aventura: Congratulations on your new podcast, Bleep! With Ana Navarro. What inspired you to launch it now?
Navarro: There is so much happening in our country on a daily basis. So many people tell me they feel overwhelmed. I wanted to help digest the top stories of the week for people, bring on interesting guests, and ask relevant questions to give people some hope and a sense of purpose.
The title alone makes a statement. What does Bleep! represent to you?
To be perfectly honest, I cuss like a sailor and have been known to get bleeped on network TV from time to time. Bleep! is where I am unfiltered, uncensored, and unbleeped.
The podcast is executive produced by Eva Longoria. What has that collaboration been like?
Eva is one of my best friends and someone I trust and count on for advice. The podcast grew out of our long conversations. She often calls me to give context to some of the crazy political events. It was a natural transition.
What kinds of conversations are you most excited to have?
I want to have raw, unpretentious, authentic conversations. I recently had Julie K. Brown, the Miami Herald writer who broke the Epstein scandal in 2018, on as a guest. I loved being able to pick her brain and have her share her unique knowledge.

What keeps you rooted in Miami, even as your career operates on a national stage?
I love Miami so much. I don’t want to live anywhere else. New Yorkers used to ask me why I didn’t move to New York instead of commuting every week. Now all those same people have moved to Miami! Miami is a place where we can all be who we are and feel proud about our heritage and roots. I also think we have the best and cheapest coffee in the country. Why anybody spends $6 on Starbucks when you can get a colada for $1 is beyond me.
What are your favorite restaurants in Miami?
I like to avoid traffic and stay local in Coral Gables as much as possible. I go to Bouchon Bistro, Daniel’s, Luca Osteria, and drink margaritas at the Biltmore Pool. Recently, I went to Sunny’s Steakhouse, which everyone has been raving about, and it merits all the accolades. I also hit Joe’s Stone Crab at least twice a season. Those two restaurants are worth the schlep.
What are your guilty pleasures?
Shoes, Sauvignon Blanc, chicharrón, and watching Bravo reality shows to escape the news cycle—even though I think the Real Housewives of Miami are slightly unhinged.
You’ve become a beloved voice on The View. What has surprised you most about being part of the show?
As a viewer, I didn’t realize how many people it takes behind the scenes to put on that show. The View family is almost 200 people who work very hard to put on a daily live talk show and make those of us in front of the camera look good.
Do you ever get in a funk, and how do you get out of it?
I’ve been in funks for big reasons, like the death of my brother and my mom, and for political reasons—and sometimes for little sadnesses. I take walks with my dog, ChaCha. I stay home, disconnect, and watch an escape show. I’ll call my friends and talk it out. And if all else fails, I’ll go online and buy a pair of shoes or scroll through vacation spots I dream of visiting. My job requires me to get up, put one foot in front of the other, and show up. It forces me out of funks.
