Latin Restaurant Weeks will host its inaugural two-week culinary and cultural campaign in Miami to Friday, November 27, sponsored by the Miami Dolphins and Miami Open. The campaign celebrates the flavors of Latin American cuisine while stimulating the local economy. The regional showcase magnifies Latin-owned businesses and talent including restaurants, bakeries, chefs, bartenders, and food trucks.
During Latin Restaurant Weeks, foodies, culinary influencers, and guests will enjoy prix fixe brunch, lunch, and dinner menus starting at $10 from participating restaurants including Crudos Fusion Art, Jaguar, Milly’s Empanada Factory, Mr. & Mrs. Bun, and more of Miami’s Latinx culinary greats.
Founded in 2019 by Karinn Chavarria, Latin Restaurant Weeks began as a one-city food experience in Houston, Texas. To date, the culinary experience has expanded to Miami with involvement from 50 minority businesses and professionals, and brought a 20 percent revenue increase to participating restaurants last year. The platform also serves as an educational tool to show consumers the abundance of cultural cuisine offerings from Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean within the community.
This year’s campaign will have the additional goal of feeding residents impacted by the pandemic through their partnership with Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program. In response to the pandemic, the Miami Dolphins Foundation is committed to fighting unemployment and food insecurity throughout South Florida.
“We are thrilled to bring Latin Restaurant Weeks to the vibrant and magical city of Miami. Our mission is to bring awareness to all the amazing and deserving restaurants, chefs and food trucks who have taken the brunt of financial difficulty during the pandemic,’ said Chavarria. “Together, with the Miami Dolphins and the Miami Open, we hope to make a big splash that may aid in the economic recovery of our participants. Additionally, our initiative provides Miamians with an enjoyable experience – to discover the diverse flavors of Latin America within their city.”
