Fun Wine Leaves a Message on a Bottle

Even for the snootiest of wine snobs, one of the most exciting parts of shopping for vino is browsing the endless array of labels. Regardless of whether you gravitate more toward highbrow or lowbrow, comical or artsy, it’s easy to be tempted to put your faith in the contents of the bottle based on its packaging. And now one of Miami’s favorite sons, graffiti artist Miguel Paredes, has been tapped by Miami-based Fun Wine to create collectible bottles and cans. Paredes, a New York native who culls inspiration from the likes of Andy Warhol and Keith Haring to arrive at his “urban realist” aesthetic, has become an important part of the city’s cultural fabric. His designs will appear on Fun Wine’s Coconut Chardonnay, Strawberry Moscato, and Sangria, all of which evoke the mood of the Magic City. Once you enjoy the liquid inside, do not toss the vessel into the recycling bin; rather, rinse it out and display it as part of your art collection.
