If the walls of The Spot Barbershop could talk, they would tell tales of hard work, world travels, and some of the finest scissor skills. “We wanted to create something authentic, to make good barbering part of the modern man’s routine,” says Fredis Perdomo, who owns the sophisticated, stylish barbershop brand with his brother Juan Carlos. “Barbers are often overlooked, but they too can be successful entrepreneurs.”
As children of an immigrant mother, they opened their first barbershop in Miami in 2001 and recently welcomed a sixteenth location in Miami Lakes, securing them as a grooming empire in South Florida. Interiors outfitted with vintage chairs, exposed brick walls, edgy artwork, and antique motorcycles set the scene for barbers to treat guests to a complimentary drink and shoulder massage, followed by full-service haircuts and facial grooming, which generally average $30. Manicures, pedicures, and waxing services are also on the menu. “We’re not religious, but we do believe that God is good,” says Fredis, alluding to the message that’s emblazoned uniquely inside each shop. “Our story is proof that if you have faith, work hard, and are strong, you can overcome any obstacle that may come your way.”
