Beginning on Monday, September 21, children will have to the opportunity to participate in classes led by the artists of Faena Art’s Artist in Residence program.

Faena Art’s artist-in-residence program launched in July with artists Jamilah Sabur, Suzi Analogue, and production duo Paperwater, all of whom will work at Faena Forum through October 30.

Miami-based Cuban multi-disciplinary artist Alexandre Arrechea will join Suzi Analogue and Paperwater as they expand their residencies to offer unique and comprehensive art classes for children in the eight-week program. The art courses embody Faena Art’s mission to foster and engage the local artistic community and support experimental art-making practices through this period of uncertainty.

The one-hour classes will stream live from the Faena Forum via Zoom every week via Zoom. Students will be invited to ask questions, watch, and learn as they develop projects and pieces in real time with their favorite artists. The children’s artwork will be be displayed within Faena District, alongside remarkable works by artists like Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, and Alberto Garutti.

The virtual art courses are in partnership with Embark Beyond, the bespoke luxury travel agency, a new venture that offers the most sought-after amenities through curated camp programs for families at home.

Packages can be purchased by families for up to three art students. Each class will be limited to ten students. Proceeds will be used to further the mission of Faena Art to support local artists. For every course package sold, Faena Art will also offer one course package for a child in the South Florida underserved communities.
