MUVE Volunteer Workday

MUVE is teaming up with the community for a hands-on day of giving back at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. On April 18, roll up your sleeves to plant native species, clean the shoreline, and help restore this beautiful, essential ecosystem.

Hosted in partnership with the Miami Community ResilientSea Project, this event brings together science, education, and grassroots action.

LIVE@ Frost Science: Astronaut Nicole Stott

Blast off into an unforgettable afternoon of discovery as veteran Nicole Stott takes the stage for a special LIVE@Frost Science presentation inside the Frost Planetarium. Kicking off the 2026 STEM Challenge Expo, Stott will share stories from her career in space exploration, drawing from her time living and working aboard the International Space Station, where she conducted scientific research in microgravity and performed a spacewalk hundreds of miles above Earth.

STEM Challenge Expo

This free science fair will celebrate student innovation and discovery on April 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The STEM Challenge Expo is the culminating showcase of the museum’s year-long STEM Challenge, where middle and high school students present projects exploring how emerging technologies can advance science.

Guests can view student presentations, meet young innovators, and engage with local exhibitors and community partners. The expo will take place in the Hsiao Family Special Exhibition Gallery.

Just For Me: Dive In!

On April 18, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. individuals and families with diverse sensory and accessibility needs are invited to discover and explore the museum’s offerings. Guests can enjoy the museum in a quiet, comfortable, and accepting environment. Just For Me sensory toolkits are also available, equipped with noise-reducing headphones and sensory toys. Sound and lighting adjustments will be made within the exhibitions. No registration is required.

South Florida City Nature Challenge 2026

From April 24-27, turn nature walk into global adventures during the City Nature Challenge, a four-day worldwide campaign that invites participants to discover and document the plants and wildlife around them. Created by scientists at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences, the challenge brings cities together in a friendly competition to see who can record the most observations, spot the most species, and inspire the most people to explore nature. Simply log plant and wildlife sightings using the iNaturalist app or website and help show off the biodiversity of South Florida.

Earth Day 2026

Celebrate Earth Day weekend with a vibrant day of discovery, hands-on fun, and feel-good, planet-positive energy April 25. Inspired by this year’s global theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” this annual celebration unites scientists, universities, and community organizations for experiences that dive into the forces shaping our world and the choices shaping its future.

From engaging demos to immersive, hands-on activities, guests will explore how innovation, collaboration, and everyday actions can make a real difference. The event also features the premiere of UniVERSE, a new feature-length Frost Planetarium show presented in collaboration with O, Miami, showcasing original poetry by Miami-Dade County residents and K–12 students, with multiple showtimes throughout the day. Programming is included with museum admission. Earth Day 2026 at Frost Science is supported by Florida Prepaid.
