At Jungle Island, our area’s lush eco-adventure park on Watson Island, animals aren’t just something to look at from afar. They’re part of the experience—and capybaras are stars of the show.
Native to South America, the world’s largest rodents have mellow personalities and a penchant for water, earning them fans far beyond their home turf. Jungle Island offers private capybara encounters that let visitors get a closer look, as well as behind-the-scenes VIP tours with sloths, lemurs, wallabies, and giant Aldabra tortoises. Book early as tours are in high demand with celebrities like Alix Earle, Shakira, Ryan Gosling, and Eva Mendes getting in on the action.

Included in general admission, the Guardians of the Jungle stage show brings conservation lessons to life in an energetic, story-driven format. The recently updated Manu aviary and the shaded Everglades habitat introduce a slice of Florida’s wild backyard.
With separate admission, Jungle Island doubles as one of Miami’s most interactive outdoor playgrounds. The only aerial adventure park in South Florida, Treetop Trekking sends thrill seekers ages 5 and up zipping through the canopy on ropes courses, bridges, and Tarzan swings. Younger explorers will enjoy Treewalk Village’s network of treehouses connected by wooden bridges and nets.

Come November 15, Jungle Island transforms after dark with Luminosa. The glowing lantern festival illuminates the park with massive sculptures, interactive elements, animatronics, and a festive Holiday Village stocked with seasonal treats and decor.
Jungle Island promises to deliver all kinds of adventures that make Miami feel that much wilder.
