Big Balloon Energy
Miami has no shortage of immersive experiences, but “Pop Air: Art is Inflatable” delivers magical moments. Now through September 27 at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center, the globally touring exhibition by the Balloon Museum transforms inflatable art into a playful, larger-than-life spectacle built for curiosity and interaction—one that feels just as captivating for adults as it does for children. The oh-so Instagrammable exhibition encourages hands-on exploration, with monumental installations that invite visitors to wander, climb, swing, and fully integrate themselves in the experience.
Among the highlights is Mariposa, artist Christopher Schardt’s glowing 26-foot butterfly sculpture—comprised of 39,000 LEDs—that flutters as guests swing beneath it. Then there’s Hypercosmo, the heart of the exhibition: a giant dreamlike pool of translucent spheres where visitors sink in, surrender, and lose track of time. The grand finale, Glowing Ballet, was my favorite section, with floating balloons rising and falling in mesmerizing choreography that was equally whimsical and joyful.
Hard Core
With devotees like Karlie Kloss, Emily Ratajkowski, and Brooke Shields, the Nofar Method has become a cult favorite in both New York and Miami. Offering serious Pilates for serious people, the Miami Beach studio is quietly whipping locals into shape. Forget chatty workouts or scrolling between sets: answer your phone mid-class and you will get politely—but firmly—called out. Frankly, it’s refreshing.
Each class pairs 25 minutes on the Reformer with 25 on the Cadillac, a setup that looks simple but delivers a burn through tiny, exacting movements. The instructors tailor exercises to your ability level or injuries, making the workout approachable even when it humbles you. If you’re lucky enough to catch founder Nofar Hagag—who commutes from New York—book immediately. Equal parts drill sergeant and body whisperer, she pushes you past your comfort zone with precision that delivers results.
Geek Chic
Florida Supercon returns to the Miami Beach Convention Center July 10-12, bringing three days of panels, fandom deep dives, and cosplay to one air-conditioned playground.
