A Tantalizing Culinary Trio in Miami Beach

Sushi Fly Chicken, Winker's Diner, and Toothfairy Bakery are making their marks on the transformed Firestone Garage at 1575 Alton Road

In an extraordinary transformation, the former Firestone Garage at 1575 Alton Road has been upcycled into South Beach’s hottest new address—or addresses, rather—in the form of three personality-driven food venues by Miami nightlife titan David Grutman.

Sushi Fly Chicken (SFC for short) takes a cue from Tokyo’s secret bar scene to create a stylish, chamber-like atmosphere, illuminated by neons and eclectic art. The menu combines pan-Asian small bites like lobster prawn toasts with classic maki and nigiri and succulent fried chicken, prepared three ways.

Next door, Winker’s Diner is a design-driven throwback concept with elevated takes on diner grub. Get cozy in one of the teal blue leather booths, admire the Art Deco–imbued surrounds, and order from a menu that includes mozzarella sticks, pastrami sandwiches, prime rib, and black truffle fries. There’s even all-day breakfast selections, ranging from cinnamon roll French toast to a stacked egg sandwich, plus a half-dozen milkshakes that complete the diner theme.

Helmed by pastry chef-partner Dallas Wynne, Toothfairy Bakery rounds out the trio with the ultimate sugar rush. The bakery, confectionery, and soft-serve ice cream parlor feel like a game of Candyland brought to life, cloaked in cotton candy pinks and snow cone blues, and adorned with display cases of baked goods from colossal Cookie Monster cakes to S’Mores Twinkies.
