Do the District
In the Miami Design District, there’s always something new to do, taste, see and buy.
Miami Design District literally never stops bringing the hottest boutiques and restaurants to the neighborhood—and this summer is no exception. Here’s what you can expect to see opening over the next few months—starting now—that will have visitors coming back for more:
Opening in June, FRAME will be joining the other affordable retailers available in the District, known for their Cali-Brit (“inspired by London, crafted in Los Angeles”) aesthetic and wardrobe classics, most prominently luxury denim. Meanwhile, for those who are up for a splurge, Baccarat, the French manufacturer of fine crystal glassware, will also be opening its doors, along with a Baccarat Bar, inspired by the brand’s Bar & Lounge in the Baccarat Hotel in New York, inside the store.
Also on the agenda are three highly anticipated restaurant openings: Ovation, Le Jardinier and L’Atelier. Ovation (156 NE 41st St., Stes. 114 and 214, ovation.com) is a restaurant (with an art gallery) and exclusive members-only lounge imagined by Cuban-American actor William Levy. If you want to get in, though, you’ll need an invitation, and to receive one of those, you’ll need two references just to begin the membership application process. The highly anticipated L’Atelier forms part of the Joël Robuchon brand, and Le Jardinier is a new concept by one of Robuchon’s protégés. Find out more about all these amazing places #onlyAtMDD.
In addition to the upcoming openings, this summer make it a point to check out MDD whether it’s to shop for the newest hype sneakers at Flight Club, get a selfie with the Buckminster Fuller Fly’s Eye Dome, try out the delicious (and beautiful) Swan, spot a celeb at Estefan Kitchen, work out next to Dwyane Wade at DBC Fitness, or feel inspired to redecorate your new home with beautiful custom furniture at Holly Hunt. The Future is Bright
And so is the present, now that Fendi has put out its Roma Amor Collection.
Fendi has partnered with graffiti artist Pref for the logo mania line of your dreams: the Fendi Roma Amor collection, featuring bold logos and an eccentric and colorful palette. For this collection, a special in-store takeover will take place at the Miami Design District boutique featuring special installations and other exciting moments. The line features an exclusive selection of ready-to-wear and accessories for men, women and children. The Roma Amor logo appears in graphic variations, with multicolor waves and neon piping that create a 3D graphic illusion effects on the pieces. Street and sportswear pieces with iconic graphic motifs in T-shirts, joggers, windbreakers and hoodies make up the menswear and kidswear collections. Launched May 14, the collection is available at select Fendi boutiques.
By the Box
Decocrated offers up an entirely new kind of subscription box.
Subscription boxes are fun—no one can deny that. And now there’s one that’s completely different from the others: Decocrated, a unique subscription box service that sends its subscribers a seasonal, curated selection of home decor on a quarterly basis. Each box includes interchangeable items—from tabletop décor to textile elements and wall accents that can be used and loved for years to come—and often, holiday décor options that move within the season such as Halloween/Thanksgiving for Fall. Subscribers enjoy the home refresh every season and often gift a subscription to friends and family for birthdays, holidays and weddings. Beyond their box, Decocrated also offers how-to’s, DIY’s and pro decorating tips with every shipment. “Many people need or want help decorating their space,” says Michael Siegel, founder of Decocrated. “I’m hoping that Decocrated can play a role in making people feel proud of their homes.” Decocrated will start shipping its next seasonal box for summer during the first half of June.
