Scent & Sensuality

What made you decide you wanted to develop a fragrance?
“I wanted to develop an authentic fragrance and body line that I use, that incorporates all the elements of my lifestyle at the beach—animals and environment in consideration. It all came together, finally.”

Do you always wear a fragrance, and up to now, which was (or were) your favorite scents?
“I’m always covered in creams, oils, and products I create and love. It’s the ritual. I’m a bath lover; it starts there. My favorite scents are sandalwood, lavender, amber, patchouli.”

What does the name “Malibu” convey about the fragrance?
“It’s very unpretentious at the heart of Malibu—the beach and surf lifestyle. It can’t help that everyone loves to live here and that it’s so expensive. I guess that is where the place and the product differ. The fragrance is affordable.”

Did you bring your sons’ opinions into the mix at all?
“My kids and their friends do tell me I smell good!”

Will there be body cream, powder, purse sprays, etc.?
“I’m developing the line extension, of course—oils, butters, washes, bubbles. All the good stuff!”

What’s next, any other beauty products?
“Yes, I’m on a roll. With PETA’s blessing and the desire of my partners to stay environmental and organic, I want these options available—for myself as well. It’s all coming, a glamorous, sexy, eco-conscious beauty line for all of us. Oh, and for men, too—I have to save my sons from that horrible Axe! Yuck. They love it, though.”
