Tidings of comfort and joy don’t always come covered in snow. Those of us fortunate enough to live in the subtropics know this better than anyone, and oh, how we appreciate it. Still, we do welcome the sight of the traditional icons that herald the holiday season, such as this Christmas tree rising from the green grass that stretches between the high-rises and Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. There may not be gifts around it, but then again, isn’t its presence gift enough?
