Creative CookerySYMCHAS Modern American cuisine with an Asian/European flair is the name of the game at Symcha’s—named for Venezuelan restaurateur Symcha Zilberman, who co-owns the eatery with Anna Ezratti—where Executive Chef Joshua Wahler serves up unique, yummy dishes like pan-seared fresh blue lump jumbo crab cake in a lemongrass-scented smoke bacon sauce with tarragon aioli. The prospect of ending the meal with a dessert like “Challah If You Can Hear Me” (bread pudding laced with white chocolate, cinnamon and sauced with rum-infused anglaise) requires that you choose carefully from appetizer through entrée. The ambience is perfect for hanging out with friends, taking in the meticulously designed décor (including a Cypress wood bar that was reclaimed from the Everglades) or people-watching outdoors on the patio.
