Combine a passion for art—and all things creative—with two Miami nightlife legends and a midtown Miami location and what do you have? Ricochet Bar & Lounge, the latest creation of veteran South Beach impresarios Alan Roth and Tommy “Pooch” Puccio, two pioneers who’ve been on the scene for more than a decade. Pooch’s credits include Nikki Beach and Pearl, while Roth opened the ultra-hip Rumi. Both promoters hosted some of the best parties on the beach in the early days of SoBe. Now they’re turning their sights on Midtown Miami and its burgeoning art scene. Ricochet Bar & Lounge, which opened in November, offers a space for local and national artists and musicians to showcase their work in a cool, modern lounge setting—sans velvet rope or haughty attitude—that features “light bite” culinary treats from acclaimed chef Kris Wessel, such as Spicy Shrimp with three dipping sauces and a Grill Cheese stuffed with “sticky hot” veggies, Fontina and bacon. The food is complemented by creative cocktails, such as The Coffee Break: Patron XO café, Illy coffee, Hennessey VSOP, agave nectar and fresh lime juice) and American Beauty (Stoli Pear, ruby Porto and pear nectar. Ricochet Bar & Lounge, 3250 NE 1st Ave., 786.353.0846.
